Drawing-driven project management drastically cuts quoting, delivery and invoicing work — preventing a 40% opportunity loss per project

Challenges before ARCHAIVE, and results after

When you have been in manufacturing for a long time and the business has grown to a certain point, managing drawings and projects comes to depend on specific people. Then, when someone else looks at a quote, they cannot tell which project it belongs to, or how the part was machined. At first we managed everything in Excel, but even just looking things up took a long time. On top of that, we sometimes quoted low — when a job was bundled with other projects, for example — and that left us with price gaps.

Managing projects starting from the drawing has dramatically cut the work of quoting, creating delivery notes and invoicing. Because so much information can be checked straight away, even office staff can look up drawings easily. That lets us separate the work of office staff and production workers, which makes the whole operation more efficient. Workers can check machining methods and subcontractors and get on with the job easily, and if we record our know-how, skills can be passed on right away.

We can also now answer customers precisely about the gaps that came from quoting low, and in one case we prevented a 40% opportunity loss on a single project. With integrated project management, we have built a sustainable production system.
