A drawing management environment anyone can use, built on click-based search
Challenges before ARCHAIVE
- — ARCHAIVE teamThank you for taking the time today. To start, what challenges did you face before introducing our AI drawing platform?
- AMC representative
Our biggest challenge was that drawing management depended on specific people. We filed paper drawings by company name, in Japanese syllabary order, but they often were not put back after use, or were put back in the wrong place.
- — ARCHAIVE teamThat sounds difficult. Just finding a drawing must have taken a lot of time.

Exactly. Some of our staff are also not used to typing Japanese with a romaji keyboard, so we worried that even with a new system, entering data would be a real hurdle. Questions like “which row is ‘fu’ in again?” or “how do you type ‘fō’?” came up every day.
Why AMC chose ARCHAIVE
- — ARCHAIVE teamWith those challenges, what led you to consider an AI drawing platform?

An introduction from Crosstech’s CEO made a big difference. We had known each other for some time through Ishikawa Prefecture, and when I talked to him about our drawing management problems, he introduced us to STAR UP.
- — ARCHAIVE teamSo it started with a recommendation from Crosstech. What made you choose us in the end?

There were several reasons. First, the initial cost was reasonable. Compared with other systems, the pricing made it easy to get started, which is very attractive for a small or mid-sized company. Flexible customization was another big factor: they build and improve the system around our existing workflows, which has been a real help. I was surprised by how quickly requests from the shop floor are reflected in the system.
- — ARCHAIVE teamWe are glad you value our speed.

We were also drawn to the aim of a total solution. Beyond drawing management, bringing the steps before and after it into one system — such as the production management and customer management features planned for the future — should make the whole business more efficient.
Results after introducing ARCHAIVE
- — ARCHAIVE teamNow that you have introduced it, what results have you seen?
- AMC representative
The biggest is that the effort of finding drawings has dropped dramatically. You can find a drawing with clicks alone, without typing anything, so even staff who are not comfortable with computers could use it right away. We can now divide work between office staff and production workers, which is making the whole operation more efficient.
- — ARCHAIVE teamThat is wonderful. Has anything else changed?
- AMC representative
Yes. Drawings going missing on the shop floor has become much less of a problem, and the time spent searching, or asking where things are, has dropped sharply. Searching for similar past jobs has also become much easier. Entering and registering data when quoting, and linking final drawings and machining records after production, used to take a long time; with ARCHAIVE they are easy to search, so we expect to save effort there too. All of this lets us focus on our core work, and I feel it is raising our productivity.
